I love spring for many reasons. It’s not too hot, not too cold. The backyard barbeques are happening. Garage sales are back on the agenda. The beach is the place to be. Flowers are blooming. And homes are usually getting a nice spring clean.
And what better time to give your career a spring clean! Dig out your old resume and give your job seeking strategy an overhaul. If you feel your current job seeking methods are tired, old and outdated and not getting you the desired results, then it’s time to try something new. If you haven’t really bothered making a move during winter then be assured that job hunting during the Spring season is good for many reasons:
• It’s not too close to Christmas therefore the job market is very active
• Most organisations have organised their financials and are ready to hire
• There is always a buzz around this time of year, with so many activities and events on the agenda – you never know what job opportunities this may bring
• It’s great weather to door knock for job opportunities
If you are out of ideas, Career Origin can help with career coaching, interview coaching, a professional resume update or a review of existing resume.
What have you got to lose? It’s time to dust off the cobwebs and launch a new season in your career.
