What a fantastic community event and an honour to be invited to the National Career Development Week launch, exhibition and forum. The community forum was hosted by Steve Liebmann (journalist and broadcaster) who is an Ambassador for National Career Development Week. The event launched the 2010 National Career Development Week campaign, and was a pre-launch for career development activities across Australia during 17 to 23 May 2010.
A range of local service provider’s exhibited their business and entertainment was provided by the Centrelink Choir. The Forum was facilitated by Steve Liebmann, which included community career stories and some unique community projects which are essential to providing career related opportunities. Guest speakers included prominent community figures and Career Journalist and Editor Kate Southam, who is renowned for her 'Ask Kate' column in Career One. The event concluded with a wrap up of the community career development messages and a reminder of forthcoming National Career Development Week activities in the community. This Forum was not an open forum for the general public but an ‘Invitation Only’ event.
